Enchanted Rock Natural Area - Spring 2020

Yippee! The Texas States Parks opened back up. While hiking with a mask on your face is not the easiest thing to do, it was worth the trip. Duane and I took some great shots at the park. Here’s one I really like. Check out the website. The photographs of E-Rock are labeled under the Texas Tab. www.lazycatimages.com

Wow! I've been bad...

It has been a while since I posted to the blog. My focus has been elsewhere. Duane and I have traveled some and taken some classes and then the “Virus” hit. Interesting times.

Some highlights. My Oyster and Thyme mixed media piece was on display at A Smith Gallery in Johnson City, TX. It won the Visitor Award for that show! Very Exciting.

I’ve had a piece in the Water show and will have a portrait in the Portrait show. I am excited about both.

In January Duane and I took an class on creating Encaustic works from Amanda Smith and Kevin Tully (A Smith Gallery) . Great experience… If you have an opportunity in the future, stop by their gallery and visit. They do a wonderful job.

My Portrait Class Learning Experience

July has been a busy month and we’re only half way through it. Last week I attended a class named “Portraits of the Southwest”, taught by Carlan Tapp, a fabulous photographer and fantastic teacher. It was a good learning environment and helped me stretch my abilities and hopefully develop more and better skills.

The class was marketed and supported by Santa Fe Photographic Workshops, a great group of folks who offer multiple venues to improve one’s photographic skills. Check out Santa Fe Workshops and a couple of my portraits. @SantaFePhotographicWorkshops , www.SantaFeWorkshops.com

PEACHES!!!! They are sooooo good.

The peaches this year are fantastic. I visited several farmers this week and selected a couple of varieties of peaches and plums for canning and blackberries for eating! Check out some of the shots I took at a local orchard.

Getting Ready for Wildflower Season

Hill Country Wildflower Season is almost upon us. I’ve been working on some new canvas sizes and some new compositions. Check out some of my latest works.

My canvases can be found at Remember Me Too located at 109 E Main St in Fredericksburg, TX.

I’m trying a new canvas size 8” X 8” (desk size) for some of my flower compositions. Check out my Red Poppy .

The Hill Country

We were at it again. Taking pictures. The clouds were amazing and the weather was wonderful. We hung around town (Fredericksburg) just after sunup. Then made a quick trip over to the Pedernales River. The light was fabulous and gave us some great shots.

Bisti Da Na Zin Wilderness

What a cool area! The photography was phenomenal. I had great fun and took loads of pictures. There were 6 folks in the group I went with for this shoot. They were all experienced photographers. It was interesting to see the different things we photographed. Check out my Bisti Photos

Black and White Photo Enhancement

Duane, my guy, and I attended  a workshop taught by Kate Breakey at the Santa Fe Photographic Workshop in July.  The learning experience was great and the end product different from the other photo enhancement work that I've done.  Check out the new work.
